Los Altos Hills Club
I joined the Los Altos Hills Club in 2019, and attended several of the bi-monthly luncheons and talks before joining one of the book clubs. I enjoyed getting to know the ladies in the group. This year I joined the board, and had the opportunity to learn how the club operates and to help organize events and meetings.
1st VP - Chief Technical Officer (CTO)
I was nominated to be the Chief Technical Officer for the Los Altos Hills Club. It is a great opportunity to contribute back to my community and improve the technology for the club. Beyond my responsibilities as a board member, I truly enjoy getting to know the club members and look forward to making more friends.
3rd VP - Membership, Past President
I was voted to be the club president in 2021 right after my Mayorship ended last December, 2020. I have to admit that being the president of Los Altos Hills Club is very light hearted and enjoyable compared to being a public official at the city council. This club promotes pure friendship, social networking and learning new things. I am so glad to be able to connect with the board members and club members virtually this year. I look forward to meeting everyone in person in the near future.
Mary Lee Eilers
Having been a member since 1973, I believe that LAHClub is the most enjoyable and the least demanding of all the organizations that I know. Whether meeting local residents over a tasty luncheon, listening to a relevant speaker, attending a Holiday party or going on a special outing, I happily look forward to each event.
Treasurer & Event Reservations
I joined the LAH Club about four years ago after retiring as controller from a small engineering company. By joining, I became reacquainted with friends with whom I had known through my involvement with PTA, LA Parent Preschool, the Horsemen’s Association and Town Committees and for the first time met many more delightful members. Currently, I am serving as Club Treasurer handling the money and reservations.
I receive a spreadsheetof all reservations from the Treasure before each meeting. I make name tags for all attendees. I summarize attendance at event by checking off list and I give it to the Treasurer who then pays the bill. After the event I retrieve the name tags to be handed out at the next event.
I joined Los Altos Hills Club to meet other women with my interests. I made friends in the Hills and fully enjoy my membership.
Social Committee, Sunshine Committee
My current Board position is committee chair of the Social and Sunshine committees. I joined LAHC in the 1990s. At the first Town picnic that Harry and I attended, Duffy Price reached out to me and suggested I join the LAH Community Relations committee. A committee member Barbara Lamparter invited me to join the Los Altos Hills Club. I'd never heard of this club. I went to the August garden luncheon at the incredible backyard of Barbara Mordo. Sitting at a table next to Twila Woods who was new to the club, Twila was so warm, outgoing and friendly I was convinced that this club was really an opportunity to enjoy friendship and acceptance.
YooHoo Newsletter & Roster Book
I have been a member of the historic Los Altos Hills Club since 1980’s. Greatly enjoy the camaraderie with the enthusiastic LAH women who believe in giving back to the community.
During my working career as the UCSF Director of Nuclear Medicine Technology, I enjoyed serving as editor of the Club’s Newsletter as well as serving on the Community Relations Committee and Editor of the Town’s Newsletter.
After retiring, I served sixteen years as a Fire Commissioner for the Los Altos Hills County Fire District and participated many community activities, founder of Hills 2000—Friends of Los Altos Hills, and the Los Altos & Los Altos Hills Newcomers Group. The LAH Club is a wonderful inclusive organization where you get to know your neighbors.
A native of Los Altos Hills, I attended Los Altos schools: Hillview, Covington, Los Altos High and Foothill. I returned to the Hills in 2000. The Los Altos Hills Club was essential in helping me to make friends and in reconnecting to our wonderful community. I really miss our in-person activities and look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones.
I joined the Los Altos Hills Club 10 years ago. I’ve held several board positions, currently managing the email distribution list and assisting with the Roster. I have served on the boards of CHAC (Community Health Awareness Center) and CSA (Community Services Agency), and currently am a member of Los Altos Rotary and Los Altos/Los Altos Hills Newcomers. Before retiring, I worked at Stanford University as a Dean in the School of Education. My Golden Retriever and I participate in Furry Friends, visiting the Veterans Hospital and several assisted living residences.
