Hope is not cancelled

Posted April 17, 2020 - Los Altos Hills Club
Dear Members of the LAH Club:

No question but that we are living in challenging times!
Even though we are quarantined while complying with the COVID-19 guidelines, we have much to be thankful for.

The Board of the Los Altos Hills Club wants you to know that we will resume our usual luncheon schedule at Fremont Hills Country Club as soon as permitted.

Several of the Book Clubs are continuing to enjoy their meetings utilizing Zoom technology. The Town of Los Altos Hills Mayor Michelle Wu, also the LAH Club Vice President is successfully conducting Town Council meetings using Zoom.

Los Altos Hills is one of the two cities in Santa Clara County that has not suffered greatly from the virus.

In spite of so many businesses and entertainment programs being cancelled during this period – we want you to know there are many things that are not cancelled. Please enjoy the attached message from the LAH Club Board.

We encourage you and your family to follow the COVID-19 guidelines and remain safe and healthy.

Warm good wishes,

Patty Radlo, President LAH Club
& Officers/Committee Chairs

Update - Luncheon Cancelled

Posted April 2, 2020
Dear Members,

The  COVID-19 quarantine requires further “Sheltering in Place” until May 3rd and maybe beyond, therefore, we’ll comply and cancel our May 12th luncheon meeting & program.

The remaining schedule for our 2020 luncheons and programs are:
  • July 14 -- Program: "Medical Cannabis: Past, Politics, Pitfalls, and Prevailing Medical Experience" -- Teresa Nauenberg, MD (PAMF- Encina Practice)
  • September 8 -- Program: "Are you Climate Smart? Make Your Home More Sustainable & Save Money" -- Steve Schmidt
  • November 10 -- Program: TBA
Please mark your calendars accordingly.

Several of our Book Clubs are meeting via Zoom video. We are pleased to see that they have adapted to the new technologies.

Additionally, please take time to review our new website: www.LAHClub.com

The club is most appreciative to Rachel Wu for her technical and creative expertise in developing the website.
This is a milestone achievement for the LAH Club!

Please remain in compliance with the COVID-19 quarantine requirements. We look forward to seeing you all, hopefully at the next luncheon in July.

Warm regards,

Patty Radlo, President  &
the LAH Club Board

COVID-19 Announcement

Posted March 2020
Dear LAH Club Members:

This is a challenging time for all of us. Our hearts go out to all those impacted by COVID-19 – especially those directly affected as well as their families and communities. We understand that as we face this global pandemic that it may dominate our lives for months to come.

We want to update you on the steps the Los Altos Hills Club (LAH Club) is taking to meet our mission while also protecting the health and safety of our members and the community.

All in person events sponsored by the LAH Club are now cancelled.
We have taken appropriate precautions to keep our leadership and membership safe. We have cancelled all non-essential in-person meetings. Leadership is working at home. This means you can still access any board member by phone or email.
The next LAH Club luncheon meeting is still scheduled  to take place May 12th at Fremont Hills Country Club. As this situation evolves, plans may change. However, please know that our main objective is to protect the health and safety of our members and their loved ones.

The LAH Club is prepared to withstand these difficult times through solidarity with our members, which will enable us to weather the crisis and forge ahead. Unless it is cancelled, the new Roster Books will be distributed at the May 12th luncheon meeting. The Yoo Hoo Newsletter will provide description of the invited speaker for the luncheon.

We recognize the tremendous burden this pandemic is placing on our community, LAH club members and their families. We applaud the outstanding efforts of the President’s administration, health professionals, researchers, staff and local leadership to provide effective and high-quality care safely. Together, we will withstand these challenges.

All good wishes and stay safe.

Sincerely,

Patty Radlo, President &
LAH Club Board
